Spire: Book of Masks
Spire: Book of Masks
Beauty and Cruelty in the upper echelons of spire
The high elves of Spire wear masks to hide their faces as a religious and societal concern – but there’s no reason that doing the right thing has to be unfashionable. In this in-character catalogue, noted maskmaker Lysk Thin-Hands-Scratching guides the reader through a selection of their recent work and gives them the lowdown on how to stay on trend in the cut-throat world of high society.
The Mourning Mask is worn to take drugs that inflict heartbreaking sadness on the user; the Ice Eternal, made out of unmelting frost, guarantees a cool head; the Forevermask bombards the wearer with a torrent of radiation intended to keep them youthful and spry; the Focus Mask improves unsightly servants with corrective lenses and restraints; the Excision Mask is made out of the owner’s own face; and the Thunderhelm has a gun stuck on the top of it. Each mask is also accompanied by rules for using it in your games of Spire and a beautiful illustration by Iguanamouth.
